Tribune: Parry touts experience as trustee, continues to pan ichthus decision in Southern District GOP race

A month before candidate filing for the August primary election began, Columbia magazine publisher Fred Parry vowed to tell voters before November’s election how he plans to reopen the Central Missouri Events Center and county fairground, shuttered since last January.

When it comes to the events center, the decision in 2014 to cover an ichthus, or “Jesus fish,” on a courthouse plaza war memorial, and the county’s decision last year to sue the city of Columbia over a tax increment financing proposal, Parry often says, “We can do better than that in Boone County.” … [Read more]
